Julie Boucher describes the King George Summer Lunch Bunch program and how it began.
For 2025 we will again be operating from Peace Lutheran Church. Lunch delivery starts Tuesday, 3 June and will complete Thursday, 31 July. Please consider being a volunteer. We will update the SignUpGenius link soon and post here when it is active.
Who We Are:
The Summer Lunch Bunch is a volunteer organization dedicated to meeting the needs of children in King George County, Virginia, during the summer break. The program is administered by a Board of Directors comprised of members from Dahlgren United Methodist Church, Peace Lutheran Church, St. John's Episcopal Church, and Trinity United Methodist Church,
Goals:
● Fill the nutritional gap for King George area students that exists during summer vacation.
● Enable children to return to school in August in a better position to resume learning.
● Help parents stretch their food dollars.
Please consider helping the program financially. Donations may be mailed to P.O. Box 1433 Dahlgren, VA 22448.
