Julie Boucher describes the King George Summer Lunch Bunch program and how it began.

This year's program is dedicated to the memory of Mike Gallier. Mike was a member of the Board of Directors and a dedicated driver for many years

This year we will be operating out of Peace Lutheran Church starting Tuesday June 4. The program will complete on Thursday August 1. There will be no delivery on Thursday, July 4. Please consider being a Lunch Bunch volunteer.

Who We Are:

The Summer Lunch Bunch is a volunteer organization dedicated to meeting the needs of children in King George County, Virginia, during the summer break. The program is administered by a Board of Directors comprised of members from Dahlgren United Methodist Church, Peace Lutheran Church, St. John's Episcopal Church, and Trinity United Methodist Church.

Goals:

● Fill the nutritional gap for King George area students that exists during summer vacation.

● Enable children to return to school in August in a better position to resume learning.

● Help parents stretch their food dollars.

We did not need monetary donations for 2023, but we will not be able to complete our 2024 program without additional funding.  Please consider helping the program financially.  Donations may be mailed to P.O. Box 1433 Dahlgren, VA 22448.
