Desperately need groceries, but at least today is free lunch day, thanks to KG Summer Lunch Bunch. All three kids get a huge bagged lunch and a free book, and it's enough food for lunch and afternoon snack. Super Thankful! Usually a sandwich, pack of crackers, applesauce, cheese stick, juice box, and some source of protein (tuna fish, can of baked beans, etc) Between the three kids, that's enough food for the four of us. Plus my nephew and two of my sister's get lunch as well, so it's a huuuuge blessing for our family!
Who We Are:
The Summer Lunch Bunch is a volunteer organization dedicated to meeting the needs of children in King George County, Virginia, during the summer break. The program is administered by a Board of Directors comprised of members from Dahlgren United Methodist Church, Peace Lutheran Church, St. John's Episcopal Church, Trinity United Methodist Church, and Two Rivers Baptist Church. We are operating under the sponsorship of the Fredericksburg District of the United Methodist Church and in conjunction with the King George County Summer Feed Program.

● Fill the nutritional gap for King George area students that exists during summer vacation.
● Enable children to return to school in August in a better position to resume learning.
● Help parents stretch their food dollars.
Starting May 31, lunches will be prepared each Tuesday and Thursday at the King George High School cafeteria and bagged for delivery. Volunteers deliver the lunches to community distribution points. Local organizations will be contacted to seek donations. This program will continue until August 2.
